Should I disavow links or just ignore them?

In most cases, Google ignores spammy links on its own. Only use the disavow tool if you've received a manual penalty, or if you have clear evidence that toxic links are causing a ranking drop.

How long does a disavow take to work?

Google has to recrawl your site after a disavow submission. This can take weeks to months. Don't expect overnight results.

Can I accidentally disavow good links?

Yes — be careful and only include links you've thoroughly reviewed. Disavowing high-quality backlinks by mistake will hurt your rankings. When in doubt, leave it out.
